Jiusi Elizabeth’s reflection
In this week’s exploration of sketching, I used a new way for me to draw. I have never tried to complete a painting with only one line before, and I have always been afraid of this method, fearing that I will do badly. But when I really choose to try, I find it is a very interesting thing. This is a good way for me to quickly observe the relationship between the shape of the object and the general position, and quickly summarize the characters and scenes with a line. I make sure the size of each drawing is small, because I think a small picture can draw the overall effect more quickly! In some of them I focus on the form of the scene and objects, while in others I focus on the light and shadow. I love sketching, and I haven’t had as much freedom to draw as I have this week in a long time! What I choose Narrative Drawing is a girl in a skirt walking on the lawn. The moment of a look back and a turn around, I like to grasp this subtle emotional change! What makes me feel most regretful is that I am not in London now, so I can’t draw with my classmates. I can only finish it by myself. I really hope to go to London to study soon!
