In fact, the original idea of this animation came from one afternoon when I first came to London. At that time, I had no friends, I came out of the supermarket carrying a heavy package to walk home, the cold wind blew my heart pain, endless loneliness wrapped me, I long for friends, I fantasized about love. I looked up at the deep night sky between the tall buildings, and the stars were dimmed by the city lights. I suddenly remembered, I was a girl chasing stars, I can not forget my innocence, I want to make myself happy, to make my heart become warm. So I took out my favorite question as a kid: Where do stars come from?

I first found some real pictures of twilight and night. These pictures give me some inspiration for colour matching. I decided to use coral pink and midnight blue for the setting sky.

The short animation La Luna is one of my favorites. I really like the fun in this short film. Why is the moon bright? Because the surface of the moon is covered with shining stars. Why does the moon waxing and waning? Because there will be moon cleaners to clean it up.

I really like this part of the Little Prince. An increasingly robotic little girl discovers her lost innocence bit by bit from the coins paid for by the old pilot. The coin metaphor is good! The old pilot gave the little girl not only money, but real spiritual wealth. A small glass bead representing a small planet, a small rose, a small plane, inspired the girl’s desire to read. She’s only a child! Children should be curious about the world, children should be full of imagination to the world!

The girl’s heart was finally opened. She drew stars with the old pilot and simulated flying the plane together, making up for her lost playing time in those years. A child’s face finally saw a happy smile from the heart, rather than the appropriate fake smile required by her parents. The old pilot is my favorite role, he is a beautiful innocence throughout life. Even though others are changing, he always maintains his attitude towards life, he is the spiritual mentor of the girl in her growing stage, he changes the girl.

The animated film The Little Prince is also my inspiration. I like the original story of the little prince very much. I also like the adaptation of the story and the new characters and story. Every star is unique, and every star is filled with stories.

These sketches were my initial idea to make a story about where the stars come from. My first thought was that stars are bubbles made by the moon, and the moon blows lots and lots of bubbles every night. These bubbles are the stars that we see shining.
